Mr William Delali Ofori is the Regional Director for AstraZeneca Anglophone West Africa.  He is a pharmacist by profession, with an MBA in management finance.

 

He has over the years managed not only Ghana but also acted as the Regional Business manager for West Africa and was strategically involved in the restructuring of AstraZeneca business in Nigeria.

 

William has been involved in various roles from training to setting up business and operational models as well as initiatives to train and upscale healthcare personnel of various disciplines, development of practices, policies and guidelines. He has been involved in fostering a lot of inter sectorial partnership in the healthcare fraternity.

 

Over the past years working in the multinational environment he has acquired vast experience in various aspects of business in Pharma as well in the healthcare sector in general. This spans across various   programmes, initiatives, collaboration, partnership and research in the healthcare sector as well as insight into healthcare delivery in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa with major consulting firms like Mckinsey and Accenture.

 

He is a past chair of the Association of representatives of Ethical Pharmaceutical companies (AREPI) which is the representative body of the world class international innovator and research based pharmaceutical companies.

 

Within the last 20 years of his active involvement in the healthcare sector, he has interacted with various healthcare personnel in institutions across the entire country and beyond, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, laboratory and diagnostic personnel and policy makers. He has been part of a wealth of knowledge across the healthcare industry in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa.

 

He has travelled widely within Africa, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

 

Mr Ofori has a wide variety of interests from information technology to sports. He is a highly active Rotarian as well as a keen golfer, having held various executive positions various clubs, bodies and organizations to which he belongs as well as serving on a couple of boards.

 

Through the years, he has always left a notable mark wherever he has found himself and he is well known and respected in the entire healthcare community in Ghana.

William Ofori is married with 2 children.
